Residential Treatment at Ripple Ranch

Residential treatment exists to provide people with 24-hour care and to allow them to put their entire focus on their recovery.  By putting their complete focus on treatment, clients are able to confront their substance use or mental health disorder with as much energy as possible.

In general, residential treatment programs last between four weeks and six weeks. They offer a more detailed and structured approach to reaching recovery than therapy alone.

Residential treatment centers require clients to leave their home life behind and live in the facility, where they can be monitored and assisted around the clock. These centers are structured to provide safe and effective treatments to reach recovery.

At Ripple Ranch we provide both residential programs and outpatient programs in order to reach as many people in need as possible. When you first reach out, we will help you determine what program path will work best for you.

Is Residential Treatment Right for Me?

There are a lot of things to consider when thinking about what kind of treatment best suits your needs.

For those who have long-standing addictions, are a danger to themselves, or have tried treatment many times before, residential treatment is considered.

It’s also important to give residential treatment consideration if you need to get away from your everyday life and give your entire focus to your recovery.

With residential treatment, clients are able to put their life to the side for a complete overhaul of the life they’ve become accustomed to. By stepping away from their usual roles and duties and putting all their effort into overcoming their mental health or substance use disorder, they improve their chances of long-term recovery.

FAQ:

When is residential treatment necessary?

Residential treatment programs are designed to help clients who require more than what typical outpatient programs offer.

With residential treatment, clients are able to put treatment first for a complete overhaul of the life they’ve become accustomed to. By stepping away from their usual roles and duties and putting all their effort into overcoming their mental health or substance use disorder, they improve their chances of long-term recovery.

Typically, residential treatment is for those with the most severe and dangerous cases of substance use disorder or mental health disorder.

What is the difference between inpatient and residential treatment?

There are two options to consider for care with close supervision in a setting in which you do not leave the center. They are inpatient care and residential care.

The differences are small, but are there.

In inpatient care, patients participate in a long-term recovery plan while hospitalized. They receive around-the-clock care and medical attention.

Residential treatment also offers around the clock care and medical attention. However it is more based on intensive therapy.

Length of stay may be shorter in residential treatment.

More often than not, residential therapy is voluntary as clients make the decision to get treatment at a center that specializes in recovery.

How does residential treatment work?

Residential treatment gives clients peace and quiet for time to reflect and fully heal from their mental health and/or substance use disorders.

By stepping away from day-to-day situations that may cause negative behaviors or feelings, clients learn new ways of coping and life skills during time spent within a residential facility. This allows for the client to better address any underlying issues such as a mental health disorder that may have led to their substance misuse.

Our residential program at Ripple Ranch provides around-the-clock supervision and therapy that will include any mix of the following:

  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Life-skills training
  • Holistic therapies that address physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs
    • yoga, tai chi, exercise
  • 12-step programs

By offering a diverse, but still evidence-based and trusted approach to treatment, we are able to help as many people as possible in our home state of New Mexico.
